Back in 2013, I was a single mom of three young children, constantly searching for ways to entertain them without resorting to screens. I noticed that many busy books and bags were simply too bulky for my active lifestyle, especially while chasing after my boys. I wanted something compact—something that could fit in my pocket or that they could easily carry themselves. Unfortunately, I couldn't find anything like that. As I contemplated the perfect size for these activities, it dawned on me that mint tins would be ideal. They’re designed for portability and perfect for tossing into a bag. With my artistic and creative background, I started designing my own Busy Tins! Life got busy, and I kept the idea on the back burner for years. In 2022, I welcomed a little girl with my new husband and faced the same challenge again. This time, I decided it was time to start the business and reached out for help in 2024! I invited my friend, a fellow mom with seven blended children with her now husband. She had been wanting to launch her own creative business for years, and together, we make the perfect team. Watching our kids engage with the tins fills me with joy; their excitement lights me up. Parents often share how much they appreciate having a simple game for their kids to enjoy together instead of turning to screens. With Busy Tins, I realized I could create something truly special for families. I feel fulfilled seeing children play and parents embrace quality time together. I believe that by providing engaging, portable activities, we can foster joy and connection in every family.

Last week, I accidentally took my daughter to McDonald’s right during the high school lunch rush. The lobby was packed with at least 30 teenagers, each waiting for their own orders, and our wait time stretched. I noticed another mom nearby with a 3-year-old girl and a 5-year-old boy. She’d ordered kids' meals for them, but it took nearly 45 minutes for their food to arrive. Understandably, her kids were “hangry” and struggling with the wait. About 20 minutes in, I saw her sitting on the playground steps, comforting her crying son while her daughter climbed all over her back.
